Decker Associates

Robert Decker

Owner / Appraiser             Education: Colorado State University

Robert Decker brings 4 decades of experience to Decker Associates. He initiated his career in 1975 as a staff appraiser for Union Bank in Southern California, performing narrative appraisals for proposed commercial construction projects.

The opportunities took him from a smaller appraisal company focusing on condemned properties in blighted communities throughout Southern California (planned for redevelopment), to starting the entire appraisal division in Los Angeles for Grubb & Ellis, a national company.

At Grubb & Ellis, Mr. Decker built the appraisal division up to 15 appraisers in 2 offices. He continued to work as a manager until 1991, when he was invited to open the Denver Appraisal Office.

In 1994, Robert was afforded a partner opportunity at the appraisal firm of Scott, Stahl & Burbach, working primarily with lender clients. Later, in 2003, Robert connected with some of the partners at Scott, Stahl & Burbach to form Asset Valuation Advisors in 2003. In 2005, Mr. Decker left Asset Valuation Advisors and formed Decker Associates, Inc.
